Assassin’s creed 3: Remastered is available at the end of March. I for one cannot wait to play the remastered version. The game originally released on last generation consoles (PS3 and Xbox 360) in 2012.
The narrative explores the American Revolution in 1775, and follows the native American protagonist Connor (Ratonhnhaké:ton).
Connor's story begins when his village is caught in the crossfires and unfortunately burns to the ground.
The protagonist goes out in search of revenge and to avenge the death of his mother. There are times in the narrative where he is almost completely consumed by his desire for vengeance. Whilst this is understandable, it can often leave the game feeling lacking and often leave you feeling unconnected to the character.
The game itself looks amazing and is immersive in terms of setting, the characters naturally wear clothes that are typical of the time period and speak with similar dialect.
The game also introduces weapons to this installment that weren't seen in previous games. One such weapon being the Tomahawk, which features a sleek look and is imbued with the Assassin's insignia woven into the design.
During the course of the game, Connor crosses paths with some of the most influential figures of the time. These include but are not limited too; George Washington and Benjamin Franklin.
As the game progresses, Connor gains access to his own ship. This is only used in a couple of missions and provides a slight tease on what was to come for the Assassin's Creed series. Ocean travel was truly introduced in the next installment (Black Flag), which many Assassin's Creed fans deem to be the best in the franchise.
I look forward to playing this game when it is released at the end of March, hopefully this small review has peaked your interest and encourages you to try out the game for yourself.
